  • You should meet the health and good character requirements with all the mandatory documents in-line OR you should qualify according to the norms of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

II. How to apply:

  • Step 1

    Know your visa type-

    By determining the visa type from the classification of non-immigrant you can proceed to fill the form DS-160. This form is for Non-immigrant Visa application and must be filled meticulously, as the accurate information will increase your chances for acceptance.

    There is a possibility for you to be in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) category. For VWP, you must have an authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to boarding for the U.S. by air or sea route.   • Step 2

    After completely filling the form online payment has to be made on the visa fee page it can be made in US dollars and native currency as well. The form mentions all your details regarding residence, purpose of visit, full name and other basic credentials. A receipt number is generated which is necessary for booking your US tourist visa appointment.

  • Step 3

    Once the fees is paid the appointment has to be taken one at the Visa Application Center (VAC) and the other at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Also the number generated after the DS-160 form filling must be kept handy for further application procedure.

  • Step 4

    There are certain US tourist visa requirements which you might need to carry for an interview, if more than one person is involved then each one has to submit documents along with an application with correct specifications.

    • Your Valid passport
    • Date you paid your fee and the DS-160 confirmation page.
    • One photograph as per U.S. visa specifications

    • A statement of financial responsibility from the individual or an organization, which might include tax statements, bank statements etc.

    Entry in the U.S.

    A visa permits a foreign citizen to travel to the U.S. port-of-entry (an airport) and thus request for a consent to enter the United States. A visa does not guarantee entry into the United States. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials at the port-of-entry have an authority to permit or deny admission to the United States. If allowed to enter the United States, the CBP official will provide an admission stamp or a paper Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record.
