Why Canada?

Canada is a place of multi-cultural ethnicity and the second largest country by an area of 9.98 million square kilometers. It is one of the famous destinations, making it a prominent place for attracting immigrants with great employment opportunities. Start your journey with Cosmos, and we will help you in settling from any of its well-developed ten provinces and three territories, which includes Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan. Being a country in the Northern part of America, it is surrounded by Atlantic and Pacific oceans with few extensions to the Arctic, thus the country experiences extreme cold conditions ranging from -15° C and hitting to - 40°C and summers with 25-30°C. Canada is a great place to live with multicultural diversity and harmony; it has evolved for an easy immigration process, since it has gained impetus for advanced economy ranking tenth-largest in the world. The country has well equipped resourceful educational institutions for students, work oriented multi-faceted strata, and great business investment opportunities with provisional Visa benefits and a great quality of life.

The Canadian government has implemented a point based system for Visa process, which is indeed a fair and unbiased outlook. Consequently, the implementation of merit based criteria has been made for talented and skilled professionals. The new comers will be selected according to their qualification, skills, adaptability, language proficiency, and thus overall capital, which pulls down the trivial criteria of immigration based on the ‘economic’ class segregation. Canadian federal government funds an immigrant to cover certain aspects of programs, which eventually bridges the gap for finding the job and helps to secure a position economically and socially.

Frequently Asked Questions?

How to become a permanent resident of Canada?

The grant of Canadian residency depends on various criteria like age, education, skills, experience, and family sponsorship. It also takes into consideration the program opted by an individual immigrant, education or working background as well as the scope of making investments and having earlier trading relations with Canada.

What is the age limit, time and other basic criteria for application of Canadian Citizenship?

Candidates should be 18 years of age at the time of application, for below 18 years old candidates, the application can be completed on their behalf by their parent or guardian having Canadian Citizenship. The person should have lived for more than 3 years in Canada. Proficiency in English or French as these are the two official languages. Also the candidate should not possess any past criminal history, which might render the process unfruitful.

Who fulfils the criteria for Canadian Visa?

Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visas may be issued to federal and Quebec skilled workers, provincial nominees, people who have studied and/or worked in Canada, and business persons under Canada's economic immigration categories. Close family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents may be issued Canada Immigration Visas through family sponsorship. Finally, Canada issues permanent resident visas to qualified asylum seekers and certain individuals on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

What is an Express Entry System?

Express Entry is an immigration system where applications are filed electronically.

It is not an immigration program. Rather, it facilitates the selection process of the following Canadian economic immigration programs:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Class (formerly the Federal Skilled Worker Program).
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class (formerly the Federal Skilled Trades Program).
  • The Canadian Experience Class, and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Programs.

Applicants raise an "expression of interest" (EOI) for immigrating to Canada, if they are eligible for at least one of the programs, they then enter the Express Entry pool. The federal government and provincial governments, as well as Canadian employers can select the candidates from this pool who will then receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for one of the programs.

Express Entry moves Canada from a first come, first served or supply-driven system to an invitation to apply or demand-driven system. Thus, Express Entry aims to fast track the process of skilled immigrants who are deemed most likely to be successfully accepted in Canada.

How the Provinces and territories use Electronic Express Entry System?

  • All provinces and territories, except for Quebec, Alberta and Nunavut, currently use Express Entry. Provinces and territories are able to nominate a certain number of candidates through the Express Entry system to meet their local and provincial labour market needs. These are known as "enhanced" nominations. If an applicant gets an enhanced nomination from a province or territory, he or she is then given 600 additional points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence at a subsequent draw from the pool. All candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of one of the federal economic immigration programs in order to enter and be selected from the Express Entry pool.
  • Just as they manage their own Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), provinces and territories set the criteria they use to nominate Express Entry candidates. Depending on the province/territory, Express Entry candidates may either enter the pool first and then be nominated by a province or territory, or be nominated by a province or territory and then complete an online Express Entry profile. Provinces and territories are also able to make nominations under the regular basis PNPs outside the Express Entry system.

What is Comprehensive Ranking System?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the ranking process of candidates offered by the government of Canada, based on their human capital and determined factors such as age, level of education, and language ability. This enables Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to decide which candidates must be issued invitations to apply for permanent residence.

How points are awarded on CRS based system?

An Express Entry candidate can obtain up to 1,200 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System, which are distributed across several factors. A candidate’s age, education, language proficiency and work experience known as a core human capital factor has a score out of 500. Combinations of some of these factors are called Skill Transferability factors and can be worth up to 100 additional points. These 600 points constitute what's known as a candidate’s core CRS score. Points are also awarded for additional factors, such as a provincial nomination, an offer of arranged employment, prior to Canadian study experience, French language ability, and a sibling who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. While these points are not required in order to enter or to be selected from the Express Entry pool, they can significantly increase a candidate’s CRS score. The most valuable additional factor is a provincial nomination, which results in 600 CRS points. Many provincial nominee program streams are only available to candidates in the Express Entry pool.

What the steps for applying for CRS?

  • IELTS- proficiency IDP and BC British Council worth 220 dollars
  • ECA Educational credential assessment
  • Profile creating on ITA- Invitation to apply 10 TH , 12 TH MARKSHEET
  • Arrange documents free of cost , NOC CODE, CRS CUT OFF LIST 2 WEEKS
  • Receive (Invitation To Apply) ITA Get the invitation to submit a file- Transcripts
  • Medical test submit document required by govt.
  • Visa stamping

Does my age affect the CRS?

Age is one of the prevailing factors that counts for points under the CRS. Age is worth up to 110 points for a single applicant or 100 points for a candidate with a spouse or common-law law partner. Maximum points for age are awarded to candidates between 20 and 29. Candidates are no longer awarded points after the age of 45, but they may still be eligible to submit an Express Entry profile and could obtain an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence on the strength of their scores under other factors.

What are the PNPs-Provincial Nominee Programs?

The Provincial Nominee Programs were established by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC, formerly CIC) to allow Canada's different provinces and territories to select individuals who indicate an interest in settling in a particular province/territory and who will be able to contribute to that province/territory's economic development.

Most, but not all, provinces and territories of Canada participate in the Provincial Nominee Program.

Which provinces participate for Provincial Nominee Programs

  • Alberta
  • British Columbia
  • Manitoba
  • New Brunswick
  • New Foundland and Labrador
  • Northwest Territories
  • Nova Scotia
  • Ontario
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Saskatchewan
  • Yukon

Is Provincial Nomination required for Canadian Immigration?

No. You can obtain a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa without a provincial nomination.

What is the advantage of PNP?

Candidates in the Express Entry pool who obtain an enhanced nomination from a province are awarded 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System, out of a possible total of 1,200. When these additional points are added to a candidate’s human capital and skills transferability points, it will result in an invitation to apply for permanent residence at a subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool. Depending on the province, candidates eligible to enter the Express Entry pool may either enter the pool first and then be nominated by a province or territory, or be nominated by a province or territory before completing an online Express Entry profile and entering the Express Entry pool.

A Provincial Nomination means that your application for a Canada Immigration Visa will be processed quickly and it provides another way of qualifying for a Canada Permanent Resident Visa apart from the Federal Skilled Worker category of Canadian immigration.

Can a candidate apply directly to a province under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)?

Yes, a portion of the PNPs, known as the "enhanced" portion, are managed inside Express Entry, with the remainder operating external to Express Entry. The Canada Visa Immigration assessment form assesses your eligibility for immigration across a range of immigration programs, including the various PNPs.

What are the required documents for Canada study Visa?

Your application for student permit must have the following documents:

  • Acceptance letter from the applied university
  • Proof of English Proficiency Test- IELTS (6.5 Overall score)
  • Valid passport
  • Parent University Academic Documents
  • Proof of funds to finance your studies
